Default GW Music; Pre Sear days...

I was wondering if anyone appreciated the game's music since I read alot of people turn on their stereos or something instead and mute game music. In some parts I think the music is really enchanting and makes GW a truly fantasy world. Especially pre sear music, I remember when I was going through the game for the first time pre sear.... OMG, those were the best days, and going on with a friend charr hunting. I miss it back when things were simple and now instead of admiring the storyline and all this people are just spamming trade and complaining about HA, pvp crazies, farmers, eliteists, etc. I know these things are fun but doesn't anyone stop for a while to go to a town just to listen to the music or something or relax in pre sear and relive through all the simple journeys?

Since I don't have a 360 or a computer that will play games at any good rate I'm playing my Xbox Morrowind with the GW soundtrack playing thru speakers, and it's pretty neat. Made me actually play that game more than I used to and actually got to lvl 2 which is rare lol.

I miss GW when I first got it, the catacombs and pre sear, simple selling, dyes, arghh! And it was in June so I always remember opening the windows and having a warm enviroment with a cool breeze blowing, birds chirping, and simple, dependent Pre Sear. Of course when friends starting playing with me it was also fun to journey with them. But I know a couple of people who got the game and didn't even pay attention to all these simple aspects I don't think and just went playing the game with no music. I loved pre sear music but I guess I'm just a dork...

I felt like saying that. I love GW music! Now when you're in the mood to PvP, other music is better sometimes but for PvE GW Music FTW.

Yea Pre-Sear is better. Alot of arragont jerks in Post-Sear. The music was better, it looked better, and the quests were pretty interisting....

I wouldn't say pre sear is overall better, just reminds me of good days and the music there is the best, as well as scenery since not everything is blown up =p

Well, so far for me it has been a little better. I've only been in post for a few days and I've been treated pretty badly by other players because I'm new to the game.

Well, where can I find a list of all the songs?

I never listen to the GW soundstrack anymore unless I'm doing PvP with TS/Vent. Whenever I hear the music from presear though, it totally brings me back in time.

I absolutely adore the GW in-game music, but I mostly play the Jesus Christ Superstar DVD in the background really loudly anyway, so I feel obliged to turn it off and listen to that.

I listen to Jeremy Soule's masterpieces every now and then, though. In secret. When no-one's watching. Heh.

Lol, I bought the Special Edition in the UK just to get the music cd. Loads of my friends comment on how good it sounds and very often ask "who's the composer?" and are amazed when I tell them it's music from a game!!

I actually prefer post ascalon. My favourite area is the breach, because its just so eerie and excellent for taking screenshots.

SF free mini-pak music FTW. You get it in mp3 format too.

I must admit that a mmorpg is just really fun and interesting at the beginning. When you dont know many things and you do incredible stuff to achieve things that are actually simple if you know how to.

I remember my first mmorpg. It was a 30 days trial of dark age of camelot. I remember my char, i had only a little wooden bat andfighting all skeletrons around the little town i started the game at. I remember i had no clue about quests, missions or story or just anything. So i set myself one goal: to reach the capital city. So i fought the skeletrons for ages until i got myself 5 silver. 5 silver! It took me ages to get 5 silver! Thats like 50 gold in gw. So with that money i got a horseride. So i got that ride and then after a while i pressed space for mistake. Shit! I fell off the horse and it went on without me. So i decided to go back, and on the way i found a little camp with no1 there and skeletrons around. Since i had no money left i decided to kill them to get some. Whilst i kill them i notice that its getting dark ingame and its starting to rain, and i tell you i was amazed, i never saw such a thing in a game. So when i killed them and it was night i went back to the camp to regen. And at once there where ghosts there, and i could talk to them. Everything was so cool for me. Then i somehow made more money and got another horseride to the next town. It wasnt a town, it was more like a little fort, like the town of asterix and obelix incase you know them. Then i found out that you could bind to cities so that when you die you wont spawn back in the first town. As i was farming around that fort i somehow formed a group with 5-6 guys and that was awesome. Nothing like forming a group in gw. We wandered along a path, throught fields, woods, mountains and stuff, im not gonna go explain the whole journey now. When i got to the capital city it was like the last day of the 30 days trial and i was soo RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing happy! It was like if i achieved the biggest thing ever. Nothing like finishing gw!

The beginning of gw was the same thing, it was soo cool, but by now its boring and worthless. People just ruined the game, its too much about competition, then about having fun doing the little things, and in life its the little things that count.

Whtever you do, have fun and enjoy it. Lets time i really saw sum1 enjoy thins game was when a guy was farming pre-searing to get 999 Red Iris Flowers to show his gf wht he was ready to do for her!

Most of the music is actually pretty decent. When I notice it... Which is often rarely.

Actually, I think I'll go work out a couple of the main themes tonight on my saxophone. It'd be easier if I had the soundtrack, but oh well. I have heard them all many, many times over.

So THAT's why everyone dances constantly in pre-searing...lol

I never noticed anything great about the music in pre-searing, maybe I should go get the soundtrack and blast it when I'm collecting zombie heads or something.

Pre Sear music is all peaceful and nice and it reminds us old timers our first days and the excitement of learning everything new. Whenevr I play another RPG I listen to GW soundtrack =p

Cool

I also listen to GW ingame music when playing. Personally I think it creates the right sort of atmosphere in whichever area you are in.

My favourite music IRL is soundtrack and I also dj/listen to uplifting trance.

Anyway, glad to see there are others who appreciate the in game score.

Peace to you

Ya, I was dissapointed the very first time I seared. I had been introduced to GW by a friend and when I asked him if I'd be able to come back to the areas I had been wandering around in, and he said ya. Sadly he didn't tell me that, when I returned, everything would be burnt to a crisp. I listened to the music when I first played the game, then had it on a low volume the first 3-4 times I played through the game. I eventually turned it off when I got into PvP, and had to turn down all the other sounds as well because it's hard to hear the quiet ppl in vent when the in-game sounds are too loud. I like some of the songs, but some of them aren't too inspiring for me. Right now instead, I listen to a huge pile of songs from Cowboy Bebop, some random Gregorian Chant songs, a strange heavy metal band from Euro called Kaledon, and w/e else I come across and add to my iTunes pile.

Ahhhh...the good ole days were pretty awsome in GW. I remember the time when I first started guild wars. I just went around and discovered cool stuffs. I tell you, there is nothing like discovering an outpost in the middle of nowhere (Ice tooth cave).

This nolstalgia was brought back with the faction preview weekend. I had no idea where anything was, I just went around and discovered new area. It was cool.

When i hear all these pre-sear stories i start considering how much Post-sear sucks

And by the way, the music in post-sear (if there is any) is ok, but i never hear it, that's pretty sad.
Anet should do a better job at that because it is very important (IMHO).
